KOTA KINABALU: Sabah made history in the agricultural sector with its first shipment of 15 tonnes of fresh MD2 pineapples exported overseas via Sepanggar Port on Tuesday (Feb 25).
This export was carried out under the People's Income Initiative – Agropreneur Program (IPR INTAN), managed by the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB), and was sent to Rompin Integrated Pineapple Industries (ROMPINE).

Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, in his speech at the launch ceremony at Sepanggar Port, described this achievement as a symbol of transformation in Sabah’s agricultural landscape, particularly for small-scale farmers striving to improve their livelihoods through modern and high-value agriculture.

KOTA KINABALU, 21 February 2025 - The Dinner Ceremony in conjunction with the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of LIGS was held at The Magellan Sutera Grand Ballroom, Kota Kinabalu.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan Deputy Chief Minister and Sabah Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry was also present YB Senator Datuk Edward Linggu Chairman of LIGS, Datuk Leonard Stephen Poyong Permanent Secretary of Sabah Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, Datuk Zul Hadi bin Ahmad Director of Agriculture Division of Ministry of Economy, Deputy Permanent Secretaries of MAFFI, Mr. Sabdil bin Tanjong General Manager of LIGS as well as Former General Managers of LIGS and LIGS staff.

The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS) has been the main pillar in the development of the rubber sector in the state of Sabah since its establishment 75 years ago. Since its inception, LIGS has played an important role in promoting rubber cultivation, increasing production, as well as assisting smallholders in improving their standard of living.

TUARAN : The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS) has organized the 2024 Store Verification Refining Workshop on 13-14 January 2025. A total of 36 Store Officers from 35 SRIB stores participated in this workshop at the Tuaran Training Center.

The workshop was organized to focus on corrections for the findings in the 2024 Store Verification that had been made. All Store Officers were also briefed on the direction of store management for the year 2025.

The closing ceremony was completed by Tuan Sabdil bin Tanjong as the General Manager of SRIB. In addition to the participants who completed the workshop were given certificates of participation, a total of 08 Store Officers were selected as Exemplary Store Officers for the year 2024. The selection was based on the Evaluation of the Store Performance Report for the year 2024.

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB), an agency under the Sabah Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry, has contributed RM2 million to the State Government.

The contribution was handed over to the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, by the General Manager of SRIB, Sabdil Tanjong, along with the Chairman of SRIB, Datuk Edward Linggu, and its board members during a courtesy visit at Menara Kinabalu on Tuesday.
According to LIGS General Manager Sabdil Tanjong, the contribution amount increased by 33% compared to last year’s RM1.5 million. He stated that this contribution reflects SRIB's strong financial performance in 2023 and its commitment to sharing the vision of developing the state of Sabah.
