SRIB Shines at MAKSPEN XV 2025
Putrajaya, 24 October 2025 – The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) contingent once again demonstrated their excellence by achieving outstanding results at the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development Sports and Cultural Council Games (MAKSPEN XV 2025), held from 21 to 26 October 2025. The event was jointly organized by KKDW and the South Kelantan Development Authority (KESEDAR), featuring hundreds of athletes from various agencies across the nation.
The SRIB Badminton Team showcased remarkable fighting spirit, defeating one opponent after another with impressive results. Starting in Group C, SRIB triumphed over FELCRA (4–1), KKDW (5–0), and KEDA (4–1). The winning momentum continued as SRIB defeated KEJORA (3–1) in the Quarterfinals, followed by FELCRA (3–0) in the Semifinals. The pinnacle of success came when the LIGS Badminton Team overcame MARA (3–1) in the Final, earning the title of MAKSPEN XV 2025 CHAMPIONS. This victory cemented SRIB’s reputation as one of the most consistent teams in MAKSPEN history, following their bronze medal finish in 2023.
Equally impressive, the SRIB Darts Team also delivered an excellent performance throughout the tournament. In the group stage, SRIB secured consecutive wins over KESEDAR (7–6), KETENGAH (7–4), and SALCRA (8–3). Continuing their strong form, SRIB defeated KETENGAH (5–0) in the Quarterfinals before narrowly losing 5–6 to RISDA in the Semifinals. In the 3rd and 4th place playoff, SRIB bounced back by defeating KKDW (6–4) to finish in third place overall.
The success of the SRIB teams at MAKSPEN XV 2025 reflects the unity, discipline, and strong determination of SRIB employees in bringing pride to Sabah at the national level. It also embodies SRIB’s corporate values of "Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Success", in line with the organization’s aspiration to foster a workforce that is active, healthy, and competitive.
The SRIB E-Sports Team will compete in the Mobile Legends event on the final day of the tournament. The team is also expected to make history, following the achievements of the Badminton and Darts teams.

KOTA KINABALU: The Integrity Symphony Choir Competition in Conjunction with the Implementation of Varsha Integrity 2025 was held at the Menara Kinabalu Auditorium Hall today, 29 September 2025. This competition brought together 10 choir groups from several Ministries and 9 choir groups from the Chief Minister's Department. This competition aims to foster close cooperation and teamwork among civil servants. A culture of integrity, good governance can only be fostered through coordination, cohesion and mutual commitment. This competition was jointly organised by the Office of the Deputy State Secretary of Sabah with the Sabah Integrity and Governance Division (BiGons).
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy State Secretary of Sabah Datuk Norlijah binti Hj. Danin. She called on Sabah civil servants to always maintain good governance because it is the key to the progress of the country and the state. Governance based on integrity, openness, accountability and efficiency is the foundation of a credible administration. The Closing Ceremony and Prize Presentation was officiated by the Sabah State Secretary YB Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Hj. Safar bin Untong on 30 September 2025. In the ceremony, For the Chief Minister's Department category, the Home Affairs and Research Office emerged as the champion. The State Land and Survey Department ranked second followed by the Sabah State Public Service Department in third place. Fourth place was the Sabah Internal Audit Department and fifth place was the Financial Management Division.
The champion for the Ministry Category was crowned the Ministry of Works (KKR), second place was the State Ministry of Finance (MOF), third place was the State Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, fourth place was the Ministry of Community Development and Wellbeing of the Sabah People and the Sabah Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry (MAFFI) represented by the Choir Group from the Sabah Rubber Industry Board which came in 5th place. Well done and congratulations to all members of the LIGS Choir Group.
KOTA KINABALU: This year’s Sabah Day celebration is carried with the theme “Untukmu Sabah, Tanah Airku” (For You Sabah, My Homeland), which bears a deep meaning about the struggles, sacrifices, and efforts of the people in developing the beloved state.
Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said this year’s theme calls on the people to view Sabah not merely as a place to live, but as a homeland that must be preserved, strengthened, and developed together.
“It also reminds us that love for the state must be translated into real actions for development, the well-being of the people, and sustainability for future generations,” he said when met by the media after officiating the Forum Perdana in conjunction with Sabah Day 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, Wisma Pertanian, here today (August 27).
Four invited forum panelists, in addition to Jeffrey, were Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya, Prof. Datuk Dr Danny Wong Tze Ken; Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Development Studies (Sabah) (IDS), Datuk Ts. Dr Ramzah Dambul; and Senior Lecturer (History and Ethnic Relations), Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Sohaimi Esa.
The session was moderated by Chairman of Sabah Action Body Advocating Rights (SABAR), Datuk Zainie Abd Aucasa.
According to Jeffrey, the Sabah Day Forum held in conjunction with the celebration is significant as it provides an avenue for the people, especially the younger generation, to gain a deeper understanding of the history and facts related to the state.
He said many aspects are not fully covered in the school curriculum, and through such forums, knowledge and awareness of Sabah’s historical journey can be further expanded.
Commenting on Sabah’s history, Jeffrey said the forum also emphasized the importance of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), which formed the basis of Sabah’s participation in the formation of Malaysia. In this regard, the state government remains committed to fighting for all the rights and interests of the people, in line with the original spirit of MA63.
“The organization of such forums is hoped to continue in the future as a platform of knowledge and a channel to ignite patriotism, especially among youths,” he added.
To enliven the Sabah Day celebration, which is scheduled for August 31, various activities have been planned, including the Merdeka Run, performances, and tributes to state independence figures such as the late Tun Mustapha Harun and the late Tun Fuad Stephens.
KOTA KINABALU, 06 AUGUST 2025 – The 2025 Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Journey officially began on 1 August 2025 and today is the first day of the convoy's journey. This program is held in conjunction with the National Day and Sabah Day celebrations, organized by the Malaysian Information Department.
The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) also participated in this convoy as a sign of support for efforts to instill patriotism among the people, especially through the Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang campaign.
This tour involves traveling across 75 locations (checkpoints) throughout the state of Sabah, with the implementation of various programs and activities at each stop aimed at fostering a spirit of patriotism and strengthening unity among the various racial communities in the state.
This initiative is not just symbolic, but also an effort to strengthen the unity of people of various races and backgrounds in Sabah, in line with the theme of National Day 2025: "MALAYSIA MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni".
KUNDASANG, 21–22 June 2025 – In celebration of its Diamond Jubilee, the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS) proudly marked another historic milestone through the Kinabalu Summit Expedition and the Hoisting of the 75th Anniversary LIGS Banner at the highest peak in Malaysia.
The two-day expedition involved 13 participants, comprising 3 Deputy General Managers representing top management and 10 officers and staff members from the LIGS Headquarters. The climb began on 21 June 2025 at 9:00 AM from Timpohon Gate and was successfully completed on 22 June 2025 at approximately 3:00 PM.
This mission was more than just a climb—it symbolized the commitment and unity of all LIGS members in honoring 75 years of the organization’s legacy. It is also one of the key programs planned throughout the year in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary Celebration of LIGS.
LIGS extends its sincere appreciation to Sabah Parks for their cooperation and the permission granted, which enabled the smooth and meaningful execution of this special expedition.

Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) successfully organized a Self-Safety Equipment Awareness Course from May 6th to 8th, 2024, under the Rubber Plantation Scheme. The course was attended by a total of 957 participants. The purpose of this course was to ensure that small rubber farmers are aware of the importance of personal safety when carrying out maintenance activities in the plantations, such as pesticide application, grass cutting, and fertilization.
KOTA KINABALU - 10 MAY 2024: Coordination Meeting with Rural Exco Members (MEXCLUB) was held at the Grand Ballroom, The Pacific Sutera, Kota Kinabalu. During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural Development and Territories (KKDW), Dato Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, visited the Sabah Industry Rubber Board (SRIB) exhibition booth and enjoyed fresh pineapples and pineapple juice produced by participants of the Additional Economic Activities (AET) program.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB), agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry of Sabah has successfully obtained the first in Malaysia Forest Management Certification in rubber category from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
TUARAN: The First Salary Presentation Ceremony for Daily Wage Workers transitioning to monthly salaries was held at the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) Training Unit in Tuaran on January 25, 2024. The event was organized by the Training & Competency Unit of the Administration Division.
